President Bush Announces the Appointments of Members of the Presidential Emergency Board

The President today announced the appointment Richard R. Kasher of Pennsylvania, Helen Mercer Witt of Pennsylvania and Robert Oberndoerfer Harris of Maryland to serve as members of Presidential Emergency Board No. 235, Helen Mercer Witt will serve as Chairman.

The Presidential Emergency Board is established and effective, March 12, 2001, if no resolution is reached by that time. The Board will investigate and make recommendations for a solution to the current dispute between Northwest Airlines and its employees.
