The Wright Flights
  • The Wright brothers each had two flights on that famous day of the first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Orville flew 120 feet and 585 feet while Wilbur flew 340 feet and 852 feet. Using the average distance flown by the Wright brothers that day, how many flights would it take to travel around the world? Assume the world is a sphere with a circumference of 25,000 miles, you fly along that circumference, and that landing and refueling are not a consideration.
