Frank Ramaizel
Senior Advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, U.S. Embassy Baghdad

Professor Ramaizel is currently serving in Baghdad, Iraq as Senior Legal Advisor to the United States Department of State.

Ramaizel is retired from teaching law. He taught at universities in California, Washington, and Virginia. His major field of teaching concerned International Treaty Interpretation, International Fiscal Law and European Community Directives.

During the early 1990s Ramaizel lived in Amsterdam and taught at the PALLAS - LL.M. Program, a consortium of European universities providing a major in European Law and Treaty Interpretation. He also was associated with the International Bureaus of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam, which specializes in providing advice to treaty negotiating teams from the PRC, Indonesia and Poland. While living in the Netherlands, Ramaizel was associated with the Rotterdam law firm of J.P. van Eck, which specializes in international corporate planning and expatriate taxation.

Prior to 1992 Professor Ramaizel was a full-time faculty member with the State of New York University system and was adjunct faculty at Syracuse University.

His academic credentials include a BA in Business, MBA in Finance, JD - Law, LL.M. -International Law, and LL.M. - Environmental Law. He is licensed in the States of New York and Connecticut; and is admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court and the United States Tax Courts.

Ramaizel was a recipient of two Senior Scholar Fulbright grants to lecture in Kazakhstan at the Adilet Law School in Almaty in 1998 and the Diplomatic Academy in Astana in 2002.
