Memphis Cook Convention Center, Ballroom C
255 North Main Street

Supplemental Educational Services - 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
An important feature of the No Child Left Behind Act provides that when a child from a low-income family is attending a low-performing school, federal money may be used to provide supplemental educational services for that child. "Supplemental educational services" refers to tutoring and other supplemental academic enrichment services, usually in reading, language arts or math. This extra help can be provided before or after school or on weekends.

Faith-based and community organizations are eligible to provide supplemental services. This workshop will help you learn how to apply to become an approved provider.

21st Century Community Learning Centers - 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
A 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant can be used to establish or expand community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment; tutoring; youth development activities; drug and violence prevention programs; art, music and recreation programs; technology education programs; and character programs; and to provide families of students with opportunities for literacy and related educational development.

Please return the attached registration form by October 24th. You may register for one or both workshops. If you have any questions, please call 202-219-1741.
