The program, in the East Room of the White House on Sept. 17, 2008, was designed to help make the children more aware of United States History. Mrs. Bush pointed out that Constitution Day is designed to encourage Americans to learn more about our country's founding documents. The performance was part of the six-year-old We the People program created by President George W. Bush.
