The awards are given in various disciplines such as communications, architecture, landscape, product, interior, fashion and people's design as well as in lifetime achievement, corporate achievement, special jury commendation. They awards are a tool to increase national awareness of design by promoting excellence, innovation and lasting achievement. The award program was first launched in 2000 at the White House as an official project of the White House Millennium Council. |
