Conference of the National Association of
Women Judges (NAWJ)

On October 10, 2003, Mrs. Bush addressed the National Association of Women Judges 25th anniversary conference. She thanked NAWJ for advancing the participation of women in society and for strengthening our democracy. Mrs. Bush also recognized Shirin Ebadi, the first woman judge of Iran, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for promoting democracy and defending human rights.
