United Nations Decade of Literacy

On February 13, 2003, Mrs. Bush participated in the United Nations Literacy Decade launch hosted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in New York City.

Mrs. Bush was named "Honorary Ambassador for the Decade of Literacy."
