Rodney D. Bullard
Rodney D. Bullard

Rodney D. Bullard, 31, is an active duty Captain in the United States Air Force. Most recently, he served as a special prosecutor with the Air Force Legal Services Agency. Previously, he headed a legal office responsible for the military defense of more than 10,000 Air Force members. In preparation for the Air Force Judge Advocate Corps, he interned with the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the Honorable Walter Cox. In law school, he served on the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Council for Legal Education, which is responsible for accrediting law schools throughout the nation. Additionally, he was elected to the ABA’s House of Delegates, responsible for making ABA policy. Upon graduation from law school, he received the ABA’s Silver Key Award, was recognized by The Judge Advocate General of the Air Force, and voted by his classmates as the class graduation speaker. At the Air Force Academy, he was a member of the Fightin’ Falcon’s Football team, an All-American attorney on the Mock Trial Team and recognized by BellSouth as one of tomorrow’s leaders. Among his many voluntary activities, he serves on the American Bar Association’s Law and National Security Committee and the Board of Directors for The Connector, Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to early education and the development of strong family values. He holds a B.S. in Legal Studies from the United States Air Force Academy and a J.D. from Duke University Law School. Work Placement: National Aeronautics and Space Administration

 

John Daniel Caine
John Daniel Caine
Oro Valley, AZ

John Daniel Caine, 37, is an active Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard. He most recently served as the Director of Operations for the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command Test Center in Tucson, Arizona where he was an F-16 Operational Test Pilot. Prior to this assignment he served as the Chief of Wing Weapons for the 410th Air Expeditionary Wing during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During Operation Enduring Freedom he was the Chief of Tactics for the 332nd Air Expeditionary Group. Previously he served as the Chief of Weapons and Tactics for the 121st Fighter Squadron, D.C. Air National Guard. On September 11, 2001 he was the Mission Commander over Washington, D.C. and subsequently authored the formal air defense plans for the Nation’s Capital. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, as well as several other awards. A distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Weapons School, he was the 2004 Chennault Award Winner as the Air Force’s outstanding aerial warfare tactician. Caine is a part-time business consultant and owns his own project management firm. He is an active volunteer for the ALS Association of Arizona and has organized several large community service projects. He received a B.A. in Economics from the Virginia Military Institute and he has completed his coursework for a M.A. in Military Studies from the American Military University. Eric Greitens
Eric Greitens
St. Louis, Missouri

Eric Greitens, 31, Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri; is a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and a U.S. Navy SEAL. He conducted operations in the Global War on Terrorism as Commander of a Joint Special Operations Task Unit and as Commander of a Mark V Special Operations Craft Detachment. He currently serves as a reservist with US Special Operations Command. Prior to military service, Eric worked as a humanitarian volunteer and documentary photographer in Croatia, Rwanda, Zaire, the Gaza Strip, Albania, Cambodia, Mexico, Bolivia, and India. His award-winning documentary photographs have been featured in several publications. He served as the Chairman and founder of the Durham, North Carolina Mayor's University Advisory Council, Chairman of the Duke University Honor Council, and Editor-in-chief for Eruditio, an academic journal. His athletic achievements include running as a member of the US Navy's Southwest Region Marathon Team and a Gold Medal at the British Universities Sports Association National Boxing Championships. He is a Rhodes and Truman Scholar who received a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from Oxford University, and an A.B., summa cum laude Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University. Jennifer A. Jacobs
Jennifer A. Jacobs
Big Rapids, Michigan

Jennifer A. Jacobs, 34 previously served as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories addressing issues of domestic and international security involving weapons of mass destruction. While at Sandia National Laboratories she developed methods to evaluate and quantify vulnerability, risk and terrorist behavior. Jacobs has been invited to speak on international security issues at professional conferences, is a published journal author, and has worked in over 15 countries. She served in the United States Army from 1993 – 1996 and is currently a Major in the United States Army Reserves. Jacobs' volunteer activities include working with the Girl Scouts of America. She is also involved with various mentoring organizations and homeless shelters. Jacobs obtained a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the United States Military Academy, an M.S. in Environmental Engineering/Health Physics from the University of Florida , and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Sean P. McLaughlin
Sean P. McLaughlin
Boston, MA

Sean P. McLaughlin, 36, founded the Eze Castle family of companies which provide technology solutions to investment professionals. Prior to becoming a fellow, McLaughlin spent ten years as Chairman and CEO of Eze Castle Software, an industry-recognized leader in the business of order management, portfolio construction, and investment compliance tools. He also serves on the board of Eze Castle Integration and Pivot Solutions. McLaughlin was named a winner in the Ernst and Young Software Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004. In addition, he was named one of “Boston Business Journal’s 2004, 40 under 40” representing Boston’s next generation of business leaders and innovators. Other awards include, ranking #81 and #142 in Inc 500 fastest growing private companies in 2002 and 2003 respectively. He received the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award in 2001, Deloitte and Touche New England Fast 50 company award in 2000, and Deloitte and Touche Fast 500 Company, in 2000. McLaughlin is active in his community through the Camel Needle-eye Corporation, a 501(c)(3) organization he founded with the purpose of educating the public on agricultural issues. McLaughlin earned his Computer Science degree from Harvard University. Work Placement: Internal Revenue Service

 

Steven L. Parker
Steven L. Parker
Hartford, Connecticut

Steven L. Parker, 38, is a Major in the United States Army. Most recently he served as a Battalion Executive Officer in the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York where he was responsible for supervising staff planning and support processes for operational and material readiness for more than 900 Soldiers. He has served as a platoon leader, commander and staff officer in Germany, Desert Storm and Korea as well as serving as a U.N. Military Observer in Western Sahara and Morocco. Parker has also served as a Foreign Area Officer in Zimbabwe and the Horn of Africa where he played a leading role in establishing the basing and status of forces agreement for the US military and Combined Joint Task Force—Horn of Africa in the Republic of Djibouti in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. He was awarded the U.S. State Department’s third highest Medal for Service and the Republic of Djibouti’s second highest award for service to that nation, the 27 June Medal. Parker has been engaged in a number of community service projects throughout his career including service with Rotary International, Big Brothers Big Sisters, youth football coaching, and teaching community activism to high school student. Parker completed the U.S. Army Ranger School and is a graduate of Defense Language Institute where he studied French. Parker received M.A. in African Studies from Yale University and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy. Work Placement: Domestic Policy Council

 

Keith A. Pellegrini
Keith A. Pellegrini
Westchester, IL

Keith A. Pellegrini, 37. Keith is an active duty Army Major. Commissioned through the ROTC Program at Georgetown University, he began his career as an Infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division. In 1995 he completed Special Forces training and served with the 3rd Special Forces Group. A career officer, Keith has deployed to 17 countries on 3 continents and has led soldiers in Haiti and Bosnia. In 2001, he commanded a special operations element in Afghanistan during the opening days of Operation Enduring Freedom and later commanded special operations forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His awards and decorations include two Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger tab and the military freefall parachutist badge. Keith is also a member of the Council on Emerging National Security Affairs and the Trentino Alpine Club of Chicago. Pellegrini has been involved in mentoring programs, educating orphans in Bosnia on mine and unexploded ordnance awareness and volunteered at his local hospital Emergency Department. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Studies in 1990 from The American University in Washington, D.C. and is a 2005 graduate of the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island earning a Master’s Degree with distinction in National Security and Strategic Studies. Robert L. Reffkin
Robert L. Reffkin
Berkeley, California

Robert L. Reffkin, 26, previously served as a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate in the Investment Banking division of Lazard Frères & Co. LLC where he advised on complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, recapitalizations, and leveraged buyouts. While at Lazard he founded the firm’s Sponsors for Educational Opportunity professional internship program for underrepresented minorities and Lazard’s first comprehensive investment banking tax training program. Formerly he was employed as the youngest Business Analyst ever hired at McKinsey & Company, advising CEOs of Fortune 100 companies on solutions to strategic challenges. While at McKinsey & Company he also provided strategic advice to several nonprofit organizations and led the firm’s community outreach program, McKinsey Cares. As an alumnus, he serves on the Board of Directors and has held numerous teaching and leadership positions with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, the A Better Chance program, and the Summer Search Foundation. He received a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School where he received the Robert & Jacqueline Willens Tax Research Award. Mike Studeman
Mike Studeman
Great Falls, VA

Michael Studeman, 39, is a Commander in the U.S. Navy. He previously served on the Navy’s Quadrennial Defense Review Team. Previous tours include Senior Intelligence Officer for China at the Office of Naval Intelligence. While stationed in Japan, he acted as Assistant Fleet Intelligence Officer, Commander, Seventh Fleet, on USS BLUE RIDGE. He was also Chief of the Pacific Command Studies Team in Hawaii, where he was selected as the Pacific Command Military Officer of the Year in 2000. During the Balkans conflict, he served in an Intelligence Center in Spain and in liaison capacities to joint and coalition commands in Italy and England. His first tour was as a Strike Intelligence Officer, Attack Squadron 35, USS SARATOGA, during Operation DESERT STORM. Mike currently volunteers as a seminar leader at the National Youth Leadership Forum, Den Leader for Wolf Cub Scouts, and Leader of Adult Missions and Co-Chair of Global Missions and Outreach at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Mike is also a past President of the Naval Intelligence Professionals, Monterey Chapter, and an award winning author of publications on foreign policy and intelligence. He is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, Mandarin Chinese, with honors. He received an M.A. in National Security Affairs, with distinction, from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a B.A. in Government from the College of William & Mary. Cory T. Wilson

Moss Point, MS

Cory T. Wilson, 35, previously served as a partner in the litigation practice group of the Birmingham-based law firm of Bradley Arant Rose & White LLP. He specialized in business and commercial litigation in the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi office. He has worked as an adjunct Professor of Legal Writing at Mississippi College School of Law. Prior to practicing law, he clerked for the Honorable Emmett R. Cox, United States Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia. In the community, he was active in the Downtown Jackson Exchange Club, the Public Education Forum of Mississippi, and the Mississippi Society for Disabilities. He is also the founder of a non-profit foundation intended to address problems of commercial sprawl, historic preservation, and crime in urban neighborhoods in Jackson. He is a graduate of the Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi Class of 2000-2001, and has been active in a variety of other bar, community, and civic organizations in Mississippi. Wilson earned his B.B.A., summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi and was selected as a member of the Ole Miss Hall of Fame. He also earned his J.D. from the Yale Law School. Kenneth R. Zeff
Kenneth R. Zeff
Morton Grove, IL

Kenneth R. Zeff, 33, previously served as a Broad Resident to the Superintendent of San Diego City Schools. While at San Diego City Schools, he led the District’s efforts to create access to preschool for the 10,000 four year olds in San Diego. Previously, Zeff was a manager at Deloitte Consulting where he led strategy and operations projects for Fortune 500 companies. Zeff also led the corporate citizenship work of the Chicago practice, which guided the community service activities and civic contributions of the office. He was awarded the “Leader in the Community” award, Deloitte’s highest individual recognition for service. While at business school he won the Dean’s Award for Excellence for creating a fund which is financed by students that supplements the salary of other students who work in the public interest during their summer internships. Before business school, Zeff worked in AmeriCorps developing computer learning centers in subsidized housing complexes in Seattle. His work earned recognition as the most significant contribution in the Northwest Region by the Corporation for National Service during their annual “call for papers” competition. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Laurie C. Zephyrin
Laurie C. Zephyrin
New York, NY

Laurie C. Zephyrin, 31, previously served as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Johns Hopkins Medical School and as a Physician in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. While at Johns Hopkins, she co-authored “Doughnut Holes and Price Controls” in Health Affairs; designed and completed a study evaluating quality of life in HIV infected patients; and implemented a study evaluating the delivery of cervical cancer screening services to several hundred women infected with HIV. Dr. Zephyrin completed her training at Brigham and Women's Hospital-Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Residency Training Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She served as Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard Medical School, Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Chair of the Massachusetts section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Zephyrin has organized workshops for women on HIV education and general women’s health domestically and in South Africa. She completed an Olympic distance triathlon to raise funds towards cancer research. Dr. Zephyrin is a recipient of the 2005 American Medical Association Leadership Award. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences, cum laude, from the City College of New York, an M.D. from the New York University School of Medicine, and has completed coursework for an M.P.H. /M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University.
