Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs

Jeffrey L. Sedgwick serves as the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs, a position to which he was designated in an acting capacity by President George W. Bush in January 2008 and subsequently appointed in April 2008. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 2, 2008. In this capacity, Mr. Sedgwick is responsible for providing overall management and oversight of OJP, whose mission is to enlarge the nation's capacity to preent and control crime, improve the criminal and juvenile justice systems, increase knowledge about crime and related issues, and assiste crime victims. He also both guides the development of OJP policy and priorities and coordinates the activities of its bureaus and offices.
