  Comment: Starting In 2002, Congress provided funding to implement the National Shark Research Consortium (NSRC), a coalition of four major shark research organizations working in cooperation with NMFS. The NSRC includes the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VA), Mote Marine Laboratory (FL), the Florida Museum of Natural History (FL), and Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (CA).
