Description: Watershed, aquatic and riparian research programs serve a key role in sustaining our Nation's soil, clean water, riparian and fisheries resources, and supporting forest and rangeland management needs with science based watershed management and improvement techniques. Research on experimental watersheds and forests, including Long Term Ecological Research sites provide science support for Best Management Practices and other methods used in land management. These methods are used to evaluate, protect, improve, restore, and monitor riparian, wildlife, and aquatic habitats and conditions in forest and rangeland watersheds.
