Description: On January 23, 1998, FRA joined with the Association of American Railroads (AAR) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to begin development of a high-speed PTC project for the St. Louis-Chicago corridor. Industry efforts toward PTC have now been integrated into the North American Joint PTC Program.
