White Sulphur Springs Mussel Recovery

Description: Recovery of endangered mussels at White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery will be assisted with this funding provided for propagation technology and production of mussels (NFH operations). Freshwater mussels have undergone tremendous declines in recent decades due to habitat destruction, poor water quality, and competition from exotic species. Approximately half of the funding for the White Sulphur Springs Hatchery is currently provided by this earmark.
