Description: This was an augmentation to an existing Facility Grant under NAG1-03074 in the amount of $1,850,091.00. The funds for this grant were intended to be used for building costs that will renovate 105,000 Square Feet of the Earth, Space & Technology Building at the College of Charleston. This renovated facility will house outreach facilities relative to NASA, the Departments of Geology and Environmental Geosciences, Physics and Astronomy and Computer Science, high technology computing labs, and will include a public museum. The facility will lead to a systematic improvement of science education at the College, and will nearly double the existing space used by three departments. The student population has more than doubled since the last renovation, creating a severe space shortage - this renovation will also alleviate serious overcrowding.
