Description: This action was accomplished via the issuance of task orders under Contract NAS1-03057 with RTI. The objectives of the tasks were to advance the development of commercially viable, certifiable primary flight displays that will enable lower landing minimums in near all weather conditions in all terrain conditions. In order to achieve this objective with Synthetic Vision Systems (SVS), it is necessary to develop a robust SVS Primary Flight Display that meets FAA certification requirements, uses terrain databases with sufficient demonstrated integrity to allow precision approaches using GPS/WAAS guidance at airports with certificated SVS/HITS guidance displays and can demonstrate an equivalent level of safety to existing procedures and displays. Award amount $600K
