Description: The Rural Youth Crime Prevention Program (RYCPP) is a collaborative effort between the YMCA of Honolulu and the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii to provide youths ages 10 through 17 years with programs, primarily during after school hours, that are designed to prevent, reduce, or eliminate antisocial behaviors among adolescents by increasing their protective factors and decreasing related risk factors. Activities focus on middle school aged youths and emphasize early interventions when research clearly indicates youth are highly vulnerable to the initiation of a range of antisocial behaviors and of alcohol and drug use. RYCPP components include an After-School Program and The Challenge Program.
