Description: Tarrant County Youth Collaboration will lead a community-based child abuse prevention and intervention project which involves Child Protective Services and The Parenting Center. Version 2.0 of NETCARE (Neglect Ends Through Collaboration of Agencies, Resources, and Education) will address child neglect and abuse by building resiliency in at-risk families, children and youth. The project's intervention component that will link identified families, children and youth to existing community resources to help them connect with others and build supportive relationships. Selected families will receive longer-term case management services provided through both agency-based programs and independent contractors. The project's prevention component builds on emerging ecological models related to child maltreatment by creating a social capital enrichment zone in a Tarrant County zip code with high rates of reported child abuse and neglect.
