Year Enacted: 2005
Code: 184
Description: The Residential Care Consortium (RCC) will work in nine states providing Before- and After-School Demonstration Programming focused on delinquency prevention to both residential and community children. Members of the RCC are working together to address the issue of providing positive and productive activities for at-risk and disenfranchised youth both before and after school. RCC members operate in nine different states: Georgia, Iowa, Nebraska, Montana, Maine, Pennsylvania, Texas, Kentucky, and Minnesota serving over 5000 youth annually. Each member agency helps children from all over their respective states and sometimes out of state. There will be different approaches to serving these at-risk children because of the diversity of state licensing requirements and programs designed for varying environments and types of children.
