Description: The Alaska Mentoring Demonstration Project will expand the proven benefits of mentoring at-risk youth into communities and schools throughout Alaska with the goals of: (1) assisting all students to meet challenging State of Alaska content standards, (2) contributing to the achievement of the Alaska Quality Schools Initiative and No Child Left Behind, and (3) reducing juvenile delinquency. The Alaska mentoring project will report on the number of youth successfully matched and the improved academic performance of the mentored youth.
