Description: The University of South Alabama (USA) Youth Violence Prevention Program (YVPP) supports basic and applied research to (1) identify the causes and correlates of youth violence; (2) assess prevention initiatives; and (3) evaluate intervention programs and evidence-based alternatives that can reduce youth violence and delinquency. The majority of studies included under this initiative involve collaboration with one or more community organizations. Progress is measured by the number and diversity of projects supported; productive responses to community requests for evaluation and technical assistance; and dissemination of results and findings through evidence-based products, presentations, and papers.
