Description: The Folwell Neighborhood Association will produce and implement the City Kids Co-op Program to serve children in North Minneapolis. The program seeks to provide outreach and support to at-risk youth in North Minneapolis with the goal of preventing juvenile delinquency and increasing the sense of community in North Minneapolis. The program will provide street-level interventions to children that are involved in gangs. The program will also assist with a public awareness campaign about truancy and curfew violation along with providing services to juveniles that are referred by the Minneapolis Police for truancy and/or curfew violation. Folwell Neighborhood Association will collaborate with other local organizations such as MAD DADS, Peace Jam, the Police Activities League, the Minneapolis Police Department and the Minneapolis Urban League to provide services to North Minneapolis Youth. The program will submit categorical progress reports in GMS that will report on thirty-eight (38) different output and performance measures including: the number of youth referred for services by the Truancy Center, the number of Police Activity League activities and clinics held in targeted neighborhoods, increase in positive attitudes towards police, number of referrals made by MAD DADS representatives, decreased number of gang violence incidents, and the number of youth enrolled in the Peace Jam project.
