Description: Texas A&M University-Kingsville's Marc Cisneros Center for Young Children (CYC) will provide childcare for up to 60 preschool aged children and conduct parenting educational programs for area parents. The goal of the project is to reduce the rate of child abuse by educating parents on proper child-rearing techniques and providing quality child care programs. CYC will report performance measures including improved parenting skills as evidenced by pre and post program evaluations, the number of parents receiving training, and the number of preschoolers receiving childcare.
