Description: The City of Salinas is creating a joint gang task force with Monterrey County, CA. The goals of this task force are to reduce gang violence, empower community members to abate the effects of gangs and increase efficiency and effectiveness between various agencies providing gang prevention, intervention and suppression. Performance measures, such as, number of arrests and prosecutions of gang members, number of counseling sessions, number of community meetings will be in place and monitored. The program will submit in GMS categorical progress reports that report on eight performance measures related to the stated goals.
