Description: An Achievable Dream, Inc. (AAD) operates within the Newport News, Virginia Public School System whose focus is on inner-city, disadvantaged, youth in K-12. AAD will continue to provide programs that integrate strong academic, social and moral components during after-school and a year long for those selected students. Funds from this grant will support five activities that will further achieve the project's goal of improving students' academic performance, instilling positive habits, values and aspirations. Progress will be measured by tracking participation in activities and monitoring achievement on state assessment tests, behavioral violations, attendance, retention and graduation.
