Description: Miami-Dade County, Juvenile Services Department (JSD) will continue to develop a model for a continuum for intake, assessment, screening and diversion services for minor and serious offenders, and will expand to include intervention services and programs for youth at-risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system. The primary goal is the development of the model through 1) the coordination of meetings with the research consultant and community service providers; 2) creation of a training curriculum for JSD case management services; 3) monitoring of new screening, assessment and community service referral protocol; and 4) monitoring movement from community service slot based system to research based needs identification service system for juveniles.
