Description: The ComputerCorps Every Home a Classroom Program (EHAC) will refurbish up to 300 donated computers and distribute them to families in Carson City, Nevada with school-aged children and no computers. The goal of the program is to give these families additional opportunities to improve academic performance and job skills. In exchange, each family member over 10 years of age commits to complete 10 hours of community service; to receive a printer, the family commits to an additional 10 hours of community service. In addition, EHAC will provide computer classes and instructions to the families. EHAC will report on performance measures including distributing at least 20% of the computers to Hispanic families, and the usefulness of the computers to the families that receive them, as shown by satisfaction surveys.
