Description: The Delinquency Prevention program will utilize the resources of three local partner agencies (Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, Riverdale Neighborhood House and Kingsbridge Heights Community Center) to provide leadership training, community service opportunities, sports and recreational activities, entrepreneurships/internships and college preparation activities for 305 at-risk youth in the North Bronx area of New York. This program will increase the protective factors available to youth while decreasing possible risk factors by allowing youth to develop their skills various areas, including college preparation, employment, academics, leadership and conflict resolution. The Delinquency Prevention Program will facilitate 1) supportive/caring relationships with adults, 2) increased academic/vocational expectations, 3) positive involvement with peer groups, and 4) positive connections to the community. The success of this program will be measured through staff observations, self-reports, attendance reports and a point system designed to reward positive participation.
