Description: The Young Dancers in Repertory (YDR) will provide artistic and educational programming to over 2,000 youth (ages 2 through 18) in the culturally underserved South Brooklyn community of Sunset Park. The primary goals of the Young Dancers in Repertory programming are to offer youth a safe environment to express their creativity; to encourage youth to develop consistent and positive relationships with adults and peers; to promote a healthy, active lifestyle; and to build a greater sense of community. Program strategy will include offering activities through the Center for Dance Studies; in-school, after-school and parks programs; Arts-in-Education programs; professional development for teachers; and a touring ensemble. Performance outputs will include participant attendance and advancement. Performance outcomes will include changes in attitude, school achievement, and levels of community service.
