Description: The Harbor Areas Gang Alternative Program (GAP) is a non profit community agency. GAP Instructors visit each class for 1 hour per week to instruct students in areas such as self-esteem, peer pressure, and drugs. Program goals include presenting the 12 week curriculum to 847 fourth grade students in 7 elementary schools, increase student attendance by 10% and decrease risk factors by 20%. Performance will be measured with pre and post surveys which will be given to the students. Attendance will be tracked and measured. Teachers will do program evaluations and have opportunities for input. This program will submit GMS categorical assistance progress reports on the progress of the performance measures.
