Description: The YMCA of Trenton, NJ will provide after-school and summer programs such as tutoring, mentoring, gang awareness and prevention courses, and recreational activities for area children in grades K through 7. The goal of the project is to improve the educational outcomes of the participating youth and to keep them from joining area gangs. Trenton YMCA will report performance measures including pre and post program literacy tests, pre and post value tests, improved rates of participants moving on to the next grade in school, and participant and parent satisfaction.
