Description: The DePaul Catholic High School Stand Tall project will implement a voluntary drug testing program for its students, which mostly come from middle to upper class families from 5 northern New Jersey counties (Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex). The goal of the program is to prevent drug use among DePaul students, and treat those that test positive so that they can become drug-free. Additionally, the school will develop a handbook based on Stand Tall that other schools can use. DePaul will report performance measures including the increased participation rates in the voluntary program, decreased rates of positive drug tests, the amount of other schools that request their handbook, and improved academic achievement by program participants.
