1 recipient will receive $99,000. This is a first-time earmark.
Year Enacted: 2005
Code: 42
Description: Children in Crisis plans to use grant funds to support a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) for children who have been abused and neglected. The CAC will provide a centralized location where law enforcement, physical, and forensic assessments can take place simultaneously, thus reducing the stress of multiple interviews in multiple locations for abused/neglected children. The CAC also plans to recruit additional foster parents for youth ages 12 to 18, most of whom are currently housed in group homes in Dorchester County. The applicant will report on relevant performance measures, such as: the number of children receiving forensic interviews per month; the number of foster placements per year for youth ages 12 to 18; and the number of foster children living in group homes.
