Description: The Jane K. Lowe Teen Shelter of Huntsville/TLP (Teen Shelter) will serve Alabama's Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties providing crisis counseling and/or temporary shelter to 70 runaway and homeless youth annually. The program's goal is to assist youth in finding stable living situations and, whenever possible, reuniting with their families. The shelter's strategy will include engaging in community outreach and education and providing shelter services and counseling to both youth and their families. TVYFS will report on performance outputs such as number of youth served and number of youth successfully reunited with families. Performance measures will include pre- and post surveys designed to assess youths¿ self esteem and an evaluation of shelter services and staff performance. TVYFS will report their findings to OJJDP in the grantee's Categorical Assistance Progress Reports.
