Description: The Suffolk University Law School's Juvenile Justice Center (JJC) provides legal representation to indigent juveniles in the Boston, Massachusetts area courts. The Center also offers training, for developing or improving juvenile defender skills, to law students and to members of the defense bar. Further, the Center pursues advocacy, outreach, and policy analysis initiatives in the interest of its clientele. In FY 2004 and FY 2005 each, the JJC has been allotted less than10% of its previous congressional earmark. These Federal funds will support a staff position devoted to: 1) Representing youths charged in delinquency matters; and 2) Training law student attorneys to represent juveniles in Boston area juvenile courts.
