Description: The Eagle Rock Community Cultural Association will implement its Will Power to Youth Program, which is a 7 week program targeted at at-risk northeast Los Angeles youth ages 14 to 21, culminating in the production of a Shakespeare play. Participants are selected through an application process. The goal of the program is to give participants literacy and workforce skills needed to improve academic achievement and gain future employment. Eagle Rock will report on performance measures including pre and post program participant interviews measuring verbal skill improvement, pre and post program testing to measure improvements in reading comprehension, appreciation of the arts, conflict resolution skills and job skills, and follow up interviews with participants 6 months after program completion.
