Description: The Marion County Children of Incarcerated Parents Initiative will provide services to parents serving the last 12 months of their sentences in the Marion County Jail and their children. The ultimate goal of the Initiative is to break the inter-generational cycle of crime and incarceration. Children will be provided with mentors, and parents will receive family mentoring, reintegration support, and parenting skill education. The grantee will report on relevant performance measures, including the number of children of incarcerated parents matched with mentors, the percentage of parents in jail evaluated and referred to community services, and the number of families receiving parenting skills education.
