Description: Allamakee Community School District will provide services to 300 4th to 12th grade youth who have been suspended from school. Through the Intervention Center Program suspended students will receive academic assistance and receive training in problem solving and life skills. Other services to be provided include after school, behavioral re-entry, and motivational planning. The goal of the Intervention Center Program is to provide a structured setting for suspended students, increase academic performance and school attendance, and to decrease the number of suspensions due to violent behavior. The program will engage students, teachers, and parents in the Allamakee Community School District located in Iowa and will submit in GMS categorical assistance progress reports to include performance measures such as school attendance and drop out rates, number of suspensions, and academic performance.
