Description: The National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) engages in a vast number of activities to promote responsible fatherhood. Through this cooperative agreement, NFI will continue its efforts to combat the problem of father absence. Specifically, NFI will be responsible for the following activities: 1) continuation of NFI's Corrections Program to help reduce recidivism, crime and violence; 2) continuation of NFI's fatherhood programs such as the Doctor Dad program and the 24/7 Dad program to help reach dads across the country and equip them to be engaged in the lives of their children; 3) continuation of NFI's public service announcement campaign through which dads are reminded to be involved in their children's lives; and 4) incorporation of fatherhood outreach projects that will enable NFI to share and expand its resources with organizations, healthcare facilities, and military family services personnel.
