Description: The Phoenix Houses of New York, Inc. will use $1,479,965 made available through the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Enforcement Assistance Discretionary Grants Program to expand adult and adolescent offender programming and reentry services in the regions of upstate New York. The Belle Terre facility and the Yorktown facility will implement a three-phase approach to addressing their offender populations to include the orientation and assessment, the primary treatment and training, and the reentry planning, transition and aftercare services. Funds will be used primarily for the salary of positions responsible for the oversight, implementation, treatment and training aspects of the program. Funds will also be used for the purchase of computer equipment and supplies for vocational training; for a vehicle to establish linkages with community resources; and to contract with community based service providers to facilitate offender access to aftercare resources.
