Description: The New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of State Police is continuing the Operation Street Sweeper program. They provide local law enforcement agency the opportunities to identify and target specific types of criminal activity occurring in their communities. The Division of State Police has a number of highly specialized units, such as the Narcotics Investigation Unit, Special Investigation Unit, Special Enforcement Unit, Major Crime Unit and Explosive Disposal Unit. These specialized units coordinate to address problem areas through directed patrols and enforcement actions. A line item in the FY 2005 Congressional budget provides funding to the New Hampshire Department of Public Safety for Operation Street Sweeper.
