Description: This Congressionally Mandated Earmark will provide funding for equipment, systems, vehicles and consulting services related to design and expansion of the Texas Medical Center. The grantee is proposing a program to expand interoperability operations to local, state and federal agencies. Funds will be used to purchase communications interoperability equipment and associated consoles that will provide the Emergency Communications & Mobility Center the capability for effective secure communications. These communications consist of radio, telephone, fax, pager and email, with both internal and external agencies of the local, county, state and federal government. These funds would enable the operation of a real-time traffic-monitoring center with remote camera and messaging capability to monitor and respond to traffic related events.
