Description: The National Judicial College (NJC) will advance justice through judicial education. More specifically, the College will provide assistance for state judges to attend national judicial education programs. NJC will also develop curricula in the following six areas: (1) Practical Approaches to Substance Abuse; (2) Co-occurring Mental and Substance Abuse Disorders; (3) Cultural Competence; (4) Handling Pro se Litigants; (5) Scientific Evidence; and (6) Decision Making. These curricula will be provided to the states for inclusion in their annual judicial education conferences. Additionally, NJC will continue its overall curriculum development to ensure its offerings are state-of-the-art as it develops its annual calendar.
