Description: The Faulkner University, Jones School of Law is implementing a comprehensive Dispute Resolution Program to teach students the concepts of dispute resolution; conduct workshops for teachers, social workers, attorneys and court personnel on mediation techniques and training; and place students in public court systems, state agencies and public institutions to help mediate and resolve disputes. The staff at the Jones School of Law is expanding and enhancing their Dispute Resolution Program activities. They are expanding Mediation Clinic services to Autauga and Elmore counties; currently they provide services to Montgomery County, Alabama. They are offering the Dispute Resolution Certificate Program to at least two additional constituencies: practicing attorneys and judges and non-lawyer professionals like clergy, counselors, teachers and state administrators. The Certificate Program is also being marketed in the States of Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi. The Faulkner University is expanding the Jones School of Law Annual Dispute Resolution Conference by increasing the scope of the conference from one day to three days and offering two additional locations outside of the State of Alabama. They are developing the Jones School of Law Dispute Resolution Library Collection for use by program participants and constituents and to assist in marketing the program and conferences. A line item in the FY 2005 Congressional budget provides funding to the Faulkner University for the Dispute Resolution Program.
