Description: The County of San Bernardino Sheriff's Office will use the grant funds to renovate their training center's physical training field, replace the existing lighting system, and improve the conditions of the classrooms. The training center has been on the existing site for over 30 years, and has served over 100 public safety affiliates, including representatives from local, state, and federal agencies. The training center is responsible for facilitating the training of approximately 25,000 students annually. The physical training field consists of various obstacles that are used as a test to determine the minimum qualifications for peace officers in the State of California. The field is also used as pre-employment qualification test by several surrounding law enforcement agencies.
