Description: This proposal has two primary goals. The first goal is to identify the needs of female offenders who are mothers in Lucas County, Ohio and their children through systematic, objective study. Identification of their needs is necessary before policies can be formulated or modified to support the family, reduce recidivism, and lessen future delinquency. The second goal is to provide evidence of these needs and offer recommendations for addressing them through the creation and implementation of organized, effective interventions.
