Description: The Phoenix House of Texas will provide residential substance abuse treatment for 48 north Texas juveniles ages 13-17 for one year. The participants will be referred from courts and juvenile probation departments in the area. The goals of the program are to reduce drug use among participants, return participants to a stable living environment, and improve participant academic performance and job readiness. Phoenix House will collect data from pre-program surveys and follow-ups at regular intervals after participation, and will report on performance measures including 70% of participants staying in treatment at least 90 days, 80% maintain a stable living environment post-program, 90% demonstrate no further involvement with the juvenile justice system, and 70% participate in school or employment post-program.
