Description: The Urban Justice Center is a non-profit organization that provides advocacy services to low-income individuals in New York City at no cost to our clients. These services include: providing assistance to the homeless, providing advice and assistance to victims of domestic violence, helping individuals with psychiatric disabilities access services, and assisting runaway street youth obtain benefits and housing. The Urban Justice Center is continuing the operation of the Community Development Project (CDP). CDP staff is providing technical assistance and advice to small non-profit organizations and unincorporated associations operating in Bronx County. They are providing support to groups involved in such areas as public safety, development and preservation of affordable housing, education reform and youth development. A line item in the FY 2005 Congressional budget provides funding to the Urban Justice Center for the Community Development Project.
