Description: The East Harlem Employment Services, Inc. will use $394,457 in funding to expand its existing Strive program by an additional 100 male and female offenders returning to New York City. The Strive program provides a range of reentry services to offenders in the final three months of incarceration as well as during the initial phase of reintegration into the community. Funding is made available through the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Discretionary Grants Program. The main components of the Strive program are: 1) Inmate Orientation to the Strive Multi-Service Program; 2) On-Site and Employment Focused Services; and 3) Supplemental Support Programming and Community Partner Referrals.
