Description: These grant funds will support the creation of a Gun Crimes Reduction Task Force (GCR) within the Ventura County District Attorney's Office focused on three strategies to address gun violence: Prevention, Specialized Prosecution, and Interagency Cooperation. The GCR Task Force strategy will result in the more efficient reporting, investigation, and prosecution of gun crimes in Ventura County. At the center of the strategy is the creation of a highly specialized Gun Crimes Unit, comprised of sworn law enforcement officers, investigators, and prosecutors who will develop an expertise in gun law.
